Consequently, we are against every kind of complication or evil.

Short history

"Pelli Sintetiche" is a free movement of people who believe in life, and in goodness…in order to live a good daily life we need start taking off or avoiding the evil that it is around us or in us.
The movement was born on 1st January 1999. Four young people decided they wanted to give color back to their life, a life made up of mere illusions and synthetic relationships.

Origin of the name

The adjective "sintetico" means "brief, concise, a synthesis of what is essential." The word "sintesi" implies a process of unification of various parts or elements or terms into a whole.
Our aim is therefore to become "essential" in style and content. In this way, "synthetic" takes on a gospel meaning because Jesus himself was very clear and direct and did not use roundabout expressions. Just as Jesus used preaching, parables, personal relationships, helping and charity in order to announce the Kingdom, for us instead there is that "skin", ours and that of the drum.
When, together with Isaac, we were thinking about a name for ourselves, we wanted something that sounded fast and aggressive. By coincidence, each of us - street artists - at that time was changing his drum-skin from a natural to a synthetic one, which instead of a sonorous tone has a sharper and louder one. (Zico, one of the founders.)
Pelli Sintetiche (Synthetic Skins) are people who want to be 'synthetic' (as in synthesis) that is, integrated and essential: to follow the way of simplicity.
The essential in life is to love and to be loved.
"Synthetic," however, has the meaning of "artificial," too. All of us make "synthetic skins" for ourselves. These are masks to defend ourselves from reality. But sometimes these masks can suffocate us, making us lose the meaning of who we are. To be "Synthetic Skins" we need to remove this kind of synthetic: the artificial, which is superfluous and weighs down the heart. The "Synthetic Skin" is the person who, by recognising what is unnecessary in his life, follows the path of freedom…

Pelli Sintetiche's guidelines

1. To seek to be and do what is good, in simplicity, according to one's ability and opportunities.
2. For those who believe in Jesus Christ the Gospel is the "rule" of life.
3. Respect, forgiveness, non-judgement, acceptance. These are the qualities of all our relationships, both with ourselves and with other people.

And so, who is a "Pelle Sintetica"?

- He who commits himself to be positive leaven in everyday life!
- He who combats every wrong and who is voice for those who have none!
Big choices are born from small everyday choices. That is the reason why our motto is: welcome, respect, give…
"Pellisintetiche" is an occasion for coming together with joy, to sharing who we are without masks, without expecting anything in return, without judging.
"Pellisintetiche" are for peace, for justice, for a true and simple life.
We are for the good of everyone and we believe in Jesus Christ, who died for all people to free us from slavery to evil. Because mankind was born to be free!

Our strength

For those who believe in Jesus Christ, our source of inspiration, our strength, what we follow is his Gospel. Our only law is the law of love.
But "Pellisintetiche" is a free movement, so even for those who don't believe there's a place, the important thing is always respect for the person.

The music

Our movement uses ethnic-tribal music to announce our ideals of simplicity, joy, peace…
Ethnic-tribal music is a simple music, made up of sounds that come out of our heart and reach the heart of those listening, it is a music speaking of happy people who fight against evil, of free people and enslaved ones…it’s about all of us!

Zones

"The ant is more nimble than the elephant." When member numbers require it, the group may be divided into zones or regions. Each zone (which includes various members of the "Pelli") should elect, for a period of two years, two or three responsible persons who have the task to animate, form and guide the zone. The movement should always have one or more spiritual guides (either priests or lay-persons) as a reference point.
